Our mission is to protect and conserve birds and wildlife habitats in our region, support responsible stewardship of land, promote environmental education, and welcome all communities to join us in the love and appreciation of birds.

We strive to open the amazing world of birds and birding to everyone. We create and participate in conservation opportunities throughout New Mexico and encourage volunteers to become active advocates for birds.  We respect and value the diversity found in nature and in our communities, and believe that working together is the key to protecting birds and the environment.

The Bird Alliance of Central New Mexico (formerly Central New Mexico Audubon Society) is a 501c3 non-profit organization (EIN 51-0174108) and a chapter of the National Audubon Society.

The Board of Directors of the Bird Alliance holds regular meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00pm using a virtual platform, as well as meeting in person at intervals throughout the year. If you would like to attend a meeting, please use the Contact Us form to let us know.

The Annual Members Meeting occurs in person each summer and is open to all. Details for the 2024 meeting will be posted on our calendar and home page.
